Walking in the Oisans region

Walkers, hikers, lovers of the outdoors the Oisans is out to grab you!

The Oisans includes the biggest national park in France, the Ecrins National Park, a wild and unspoilt area just waiting for you to explore it.

The Tourist Office has a wealth of information on the area and route suggestions, many starting from and returning to Bourg d'Oisans.  The routes vary in length and difficulty from strolls around the town and along the river to hikes up the cliffs and into the mountains.

The area also has 25 mountain refuges within easy reach where you can spend the night or take a few hours break for something local to eat and drink.  The refuges are open for everyone, again the routes to the refuges vary in length and difficulty. If you would like to spend a night at a refuge you need to book in advance as places are limited and the Tourist Office will be pleased to help you.
