Bourg d'Oisans in the Winter
The market town of Bourg d'Oisans sits at the base of Alp
d'Huez, made famous by the Tour de France, and has a population of approximately 3000
people. Based in the Isere department of France it
lies at the point at which six contrasting steep valleys
(known collectively as the Oisans)
meet at 750 metres above sea level.
Due to its central position in this area, Bourg d'Oisans
is the ideal location for a holiday in the
Alps allowing you easy access to more than one resort.
The town has 10 bars and 15 restaurants, hotels,
an abundance of patisseries and loads of shops so is an
ideal place to explore and chill out after a day in the
mountains.
You can also visit the Museum of Minerals and Fauna in the Alps, go to the cinema or catch
a bus to the capital of Isere and the Alps, the nearby
city of Grenoble.
